Lawrence S. Dickson, 85, of Newark, formerly of Columbus, passed away at 3:36 am on Friday, January 8, 2016, at the Mayfair Village in Columbus.
Lawrence was born January 25, 1930 in Blue Rock to the late John and Louise (Work) Dickson.
Lawrence work as a route salesman for the Little Debbie Snack Company where he earned serveral sales awards, he attended the Outville Presbyterian Church, and was a member of the Columbus Masonic Lodge. Lawrence served his county in the U.S. Air Force.
He is survived by his loving wife Dorothy J. McLaughlin Dickson, whom he married January 16, 1955, a marriage of 65 years. His son Gary (Pam) Dickson of Johnstown and his daughter Karyn (Robert) Grieser of Delaware. Two grandchildren Jessica and Matthew, who were the light of his life. Brothers Lewis (Janet) Dickson of Duncan Falls, Dana (Florence) Dickson of Huron and sister Wanda Lucas of Heath.
In addition to his parents, Lawrence was preceded in death by a brother David Eugene Dickson.
Friends may call Sunday 2 to4 and 6 to 8 on Sunday (Jan 10) at the Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls where the services will be 3 pm Monday, with the Rev Steve Merold officiating. Burial will be in Duncan Falls Cemetery with full military honors. Masonic Services will be held Sunday evening at 5:45 pm.
