Laura "Jeanie" Skaggs

Laura “Jeanie” Skaggs, 67 of Zanesville, passed away suddenly on February 21, 2023.

Jeanie was born on October 21,1955 in Zanesville, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late Robert and Juanita (Brown) Henderson. Jeanie was a 1973  graduate of Philo High School. She was a hardworking woman and dedicated twenty plus years of her life employed at Kroger from where she eventually retired. After retirement, Jeanie went back to work with Empire Foods. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, shopping online, taking care of her precious plants, as well as watching DIY shows. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.

Jeanie is survived by her husband of thirty-one years, Richard Skaggs, whom she married on March 16, 1991; her children, Arron Grant of Florida,  Angela (Ron) Gombeda of Byesville, Richard Skaggs of Zanesville, and Wayne Skaggs of Zanesville; her six grandchildren, Owen Gregg, Addison Gregg, Cruz Skaggs, Mavis Skaggs, Ayla Gombeda, and Jaron Gombeda; her siblings, Butch (Sally) Henderson of White Cottage, Brent (Wanda) Henderson of Wooster, Michael Henderson of Florida, and Ella (Patrick) Schott of Cambridge; as well as several nieces, nephews, and friends.

In addition to her parents, Jeanie is preceded in death by her brother, John Henderson; as well as her sister, Brenda (Harold) Roop.

Memorial contributions can be made to the Citizens National Bank, P.O. Box 423, Duncan Falls, Ohio 43734 to help defray Jeanie’s service expenses.

Visitations will be from 2 to 5 PM on Sunday, February 26, 2023, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Visitations will also be held from 5 to 7 PM on Monday, February 27, 2023, at the funeral home.
