Larry D. Sheridan, 71 of Blue Rock passed away surrounded by his family at 10:53 pm, Thursday, October 2, 2014 at Genesis Hospital. Larry was born October 25, 1942 in Zanesville, the son of the late Robert Dean and Dorothy (Kehl) Sheridan. He retired in 2003 from the Muskingum County Sheriffs Office. He was a member of the Word of Life Ministries Church on Dryden Road, Zanesville, he was an avid golfer and enjoyed riding his motorcycle and loved attending his grandchildren's sporting events and supporting them in everything they did. He also enjoyed spending time in Oklahoma visiting his family. He served his country honorably in the Vietnam conflict for the US Army. Larry is survived by his wife Nancy (Johnson) Sheridan whom he married July 19, 1997; his children Larry (Kelli) Sheridan, Joni (Mike) Hoskinson, Debbie (Robert) Mehl, Vickie (Ted) Marple, Sallie Peyton, Stacy (Maggie) Duncan and Telly (Tina) Morrison; his grandchildren Britney (Aaron) Cash, McKinzey Butler, Jodie Butler (Josh Slate), Cory Hoskinson, Zakery Sheridan, Kameron Sheridan, Brian (Allyson) Sheridan, Joe (Kelly) Peyton, Ashley Mehl, Lindsey Roehrig, Chris (Kayla) Mehl, Michael Mehl, Jordan Mehl, Justin Marple, Mario Payne, Dustin Marple, Jeremy Marple, Teddy Marple Jr, Tyler Peyton, Spencer Merie Morrison, Amanda Richards; his 16 great-grandchildren; his sisters Pat (Alan) Foust, Vicki Bliss, Dotti (Paul) Barkhurst and Bobbi (Jeff) Bragg; a brother-in-law Carl Littledave, a sister-in-law Cheryl Johnson-Good; his special friends Pastor John and Judy Sensabaugh; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and many friends. In addition to his parents, Larry is preceded in death by the mother of his children Doris Sheridan who passed away October 12, 1995; his two grandchildren Jason Marple and Jacqulyn Marple; his great granddaughter Lillian Mehl; his sister Anna Marie Littledave; and his brothers-in-law Greg Bliss and Michael Johnson. Visitations will be held 4 to 7 pm Saturday, October 4, 2014 at the Word of Life Ministries Church, 713 Dryden Road, Zanesville and from 2 to 4 pm Sunday, October 5, 2014 where funeral services will be held at 4 pm with Pastor John Sensabaugh officiating. Full Military Honors will be provided by the US Army Color Guard and the McConnelsville American Legion Post #24.
