Kenneth R. Young

Kenneth R. Young, 78 of Frazeysburg, passed away following a lengthy battle with cancer January 3, 2021 at Genesis Hospital Emergency Room.

Kenny was born in Frazeysburg on January 23, 1942.  He is the son of the late Mary Ruth (Miller) Gompf.  He worked for Ruhlin Construction Company and then for Kokosing Construction Company where he retired after many years working as a heavy equipment operator and mechanic.  He loved working on tractors for many area farmers and he served his country in the US Marine Corps.

Kenny is survived by his wife of 57 years, Sylvia (Sheppard) Young whom he married, October 19, 1963; his children, Tracy (Mike) Hartshorn, Annette (George) Upvall and Kenneth R. (Lori) Young II; his grandchildren, Kenny (Heidi) Rich Jr, Amy Sue (Dustin) Dickerson, Trey Michael (Blair) Senter, Laklyn Upvall, Samantha Upvall, Nickolas Upvall, Wade (Veronica) Young and Carly (Jerry) Young; his great grandchildren, Raylynn and Bryson Dickerson, Stella Senter, Noah and Nora Young.

In addition to his parents, Kenny is preceded in death by his brother, Russell Young.

In keeping with his wishes a caring cremation will take place and no services will be held at this time.  The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Young family.
