Kenneth “Kenny” R. Johnston, 69 of New Concord, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on Tuesday, May 19, 2026.

Kenny was born on September 14, 1956, in Zanesville. He is the son of the late Ross and Velma (Pollock) Johnston. He was a lifelong area farmer and retired from Owen’s Corning in Newark in 2003 after dedicating many years of hard work. Kenny loved being outdoors- whether it was riding his motorcycle, smoking meats, or going to the beach. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially attending his grandchildren’s sporting events. Kenny liked watching cooking and car shows, as well as listening to country and classic rock.

Kenny is survived by his four children, Lisa (Jack) McClelland, Lori (Bryan) Vance, Keisha VanDyne, and Kyle Johnston; his grandchildren, Cameron Vance, Nate McClelland, Makenna Vance, Isaac McClelland, Shia Johnston, Akeelah VanDyne, Ali McClelland, and Dominique VanDyne; as well as many friends.

In addition to his parents, Kenny is preceded in death by his beloved wife of twenty-eight years, Lugene (Wilson) Johnston, who passed away on September 11, 2011; and his sister, Diana Skaggs.

In keeping with Kenny’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord for the Johnston family.
