Judith “Judy” A. Sanders, 81 of Philo, passed away peacefully on February 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House.
Judy was born on August 5, 1942, in Dayton, Ohio. She is the daughter of the late John C. and Anna E. (Six) May. Judy worked for Gould Electronics in Malta, Ohio, United Tech on Ceramic Avenue and Linden Avenue in Zanesville, and she managed the Dairy Queen on Maple Avenue for some time. She was also a member of the VFW Post #4713 in Malta. Judy enjoyed playing bingo, coloring, reading, spending time with her special furry friend, Dottie, but most importantly she loved her family and cherished the time she spent with them.
Judy is survived by her children, Jeff (Annette) Boykin and Joy (David) Howiler; her grandchildren, Kyle Boykin, Sydney Boykin, Stephanie Miller, Marcus Miller, and Jacie Howiler; her ten great-grandchildren; her good friend, Caroline Gottke; as well as many other friends.
In addition to her parents, Judy is preceded in death by her beloved husband of fifty-two years, James “Jim” E. Sanders, who passed away on March 4, 2022; as well as her granddaughter, Bree Guy.
Visitations for Judy will be held from 4 to 7 pm on Wednesday, February 28, 2024, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services for Judy will be held at 11 am on Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the funeral home. Pastor Lisa Jenkins will officiate the service. Judy will be laid to rest beside her husband Jim in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
