John L. Mohler Sr.

John L. Mohler Sr., 77 of New Concord, passed away peacefully in the early morning hours of Friday, August 23, 2024, surrounded by his loving family.

John was born on January 15, 1947 in Thornville, Ohio. He is the son of the late Leroy and Mary Frances (Mechling) Mohler. John worked as a factory worker at the Old Cambridge Glass House and Randall Plastics before retiring. He enjoyed remodeling homes, tending to his yard, being outdoors, as well as tormenting and playing with his cat, Monkey. John also loved working with his hands. Whether it was building, fixing, or creating, he approached every task with dedication and a meticulous attention to detail.

John is survived by his wife of twenty-four years, Amy D. Mohler, whom he married on January 1, 2000; his son, John (Nickie) Mohler Jr.; his five grandchildren; his three great-grandchildren; his sister, Emma; as well as many friends.

In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his five brothers, four sisters and beloved cat, Tabbycat.

The family would like to extend their gratitude to Selene, Becky, and Sue of Genesis Hospice, as well as a special friend/neighbor, Marsha Miller, for helping John until the end.

Visitations will be held from 1 to 3 pm on Monday, August 26, 2024, at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord. A funeral service will be held at 3 pm following visitations at the funeral home. Pastor Marc Caton and Pastor Randolph White will be officiating the service. John will be laid to rest in Pleasant Hill Cemetery.
