John G. Gohring Jr.

John G. Gohring Jr., 53, of Blue Rock, passed away on May 6, 2022 at Genesis Hospital, following a lengthy illness.

John was born in Zanesville on February 18, 1969.  He is the son of John G. Gohring of Blue Rock and the late Norma (Stiers) Gohring, who passed away January 2, 2022.

John loved being outdoors, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, camping, spending time in the woods and he could always be found cutting wood.  He worked as a timber cutter for over 30 years and he loved every second of it...The only thing he loved more was the time that he could spend with his wife and two boys.

John is survived by his wife, Kelly (Hoppestter) Gohring whom he married February 21, 1999; his two sons, Johnny E. Gohring and Jeremy A. Gohring; his brothers, Greg (Stephanie) Gohring; his nephew, Justin and his niece, Tracey.

In addition to his mother, John is preceded in death by his brother, Rob Gohring.

John gave the gift of life thru organ and tissue donation.  In keeping with his wishes a caring cremation will take place.

A memorial service will take place at Blue Rock State Park at a time to be announced soon.  The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is entrusted with arrangements.
