John G. Gohring

John G. Gohring, 83 of Zanesville and formerly of Blue Rock, Ohio passed away peacefully at home on April 25, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.

John was born in Perry County on December 30, 1941.  He is the son of Charles and Flossie (Craig) Gohring.  He enjoyed spending time in the outdoors hunting, fishing, gardening, hunting ginseng,

and he worked as a tree trimmer.  Most especially he loved spending time with his family.

John is survived by his son, Greg (Sarah) Gohring; his grandchildren, Justin, Johnny, Tracey, Jeremy, Braydn and Megan; his two great grandchildren, Ethan and Ryan; his sisters, Linda Gohring, Connie Gohring Depugh, and Sharon Prock; his brother, Carl Gohring.

John is preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Sue Gohring who passed away January 2, 2022; his sons, John Gohring Jr. who passed away May 6, 2022 and Rob Gohring who passed away November 13, 2018; his brothers, Bill Gohring, Donald Gohring, Charles “Chub” Gohring, Billy Craig; and his sisters, Juanita Gohring, Betty Lou Gohring and Jean Chriswell.

Visitations will be 5 to 7 pm on Thursday at the Farus Funeral Home.  He will be laid to rest beside his wife and son in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
