John R England, 69 of Blue Rock passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday, November 15, 2016.
John was born in Zanesville on March 13, 1947. He is the son of the late Chester and Bertha (Wickham) England. He retired from the RR Donnley Company where he worked as head of maintenance as industrial electrician. He loved spending time in the outdoors, hunting, trapping and fishing. He was an amateur HAM radio operator, a member of Zanesville Amateur Radio Association and he worked as a weather spotter for the National Weather Service. He was a member of the Christian Motorcycle Association, the NRA and Amity Lodge he also served as an Assistant Scout Master for Boy Scout Troup #146 for numerous years. He especially enjoyed spending time with his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He served his country in the US Navy; serving two tours in Vietnam with the US Navy Seabees.
John is survived by his wife Theresa “Terry” England whom he married January 4, 1969; his daughters Tisha (David) Hanifan of Duncan Falls, Crystal Switzer of Blue Rock and Tiffany Faye Hawkins; his eight grandchildren Christina, Christian (Kernisity) Austin, Christopher “Chet”, Dallas, Nicolas, Mark and Victoria; his great-grandchildren Gavin R and Landon and his sister Jean Myer.
Masonic Services will be held at 7 pm, Thursday evening.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, November 17, 2016 and Friday from 10 am to 11 am at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be held at 11 am with Sam Dunn officiting. He will be laid to rest in Zanesville Memorial Park Cemetery with full Military Honors provided by George Selsam Post #1058 and the US Navy Color Guard.
