John "John Boy" Schmidt, 55 of Rix Mills Road, New Concord, passed away at 4:30 pm Thursday, February 14, 2013 at Good Samaritan Emergency Room. John was born June 13, 1957 in Coshocton, the son of the late Harry and Bertha (Voshel) Barr; he previously worked for Missy's Corner CafAC.. John is survived by his brother Harry Barr of Mass; his sisters Linda (Paul) Pitcock of Norwich, Jane (Robert) Barr of New Concord and Anita (John Taylor) Stevenson of New Concord and several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother Charles Barr and his sister Margaret Mathers. Visitations will be 11 to 1 pm Monday February 18th at the Farus Funeral Home in Cumberland where funeral services will be at 1 pm with Rev. Vickie Kumorowski officiating. www.farusfh.com
