John G. “Jack” Boughner, 94, passed away peacefully at his McConnelsville home on February 2, 2017.
Jack was born in Smithfield, WV on February 26, 1922. He is the son of the late John G and Bertie M Boughner. He was the owner of Cemenco Services in Zanesville, a member of Central Trinity United Methodist Church, VFW Post 4713 in Malta, the American Legion Post 29 in Zanesville and FOE #2187 in McConnelsville. He loved his river front home but most especially he loved spending time with his grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. He proudly served his country in the US Marine Corps, serving in WWII.
Jack is survived by his wife, Shirley Boughner; his five daughters Linda (Del) Adolph, Beckie Sanders, Debbie (Ray) Fleming, Jackie Campbell and Lorie Havens; his step-children Jim (Tammy) Scott and Tammy (Dwayne) Blevins; his brother Joseph (Betty) Boughner; his sister Dot Wilson and several grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Jack is preceded in death by the mother of his children, Frances Boughner who passed away in 1998; his brother William “Bill” Boughner, a grandson Brian Adolph, a granddaughter Sarah Havens and his step-daughter Lynn Riggs.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 1 to 5 pm, Sunday, February 6, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 11 am with Pastor Steve Judson officiating. He will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery in Zanesville with full military honors provided by VFW Post #1058, American Legion Post #29 and the US Marine Color Guard.
