Joan M. Summers

Joan Martha Willison Summers, 84, beloved sister, mother and grandmother, entered eternal rest on October 14, 2022 at Willow Haven Continuing Healthcare Facility, Zanesville, Ohio.  A graveside service will be on Monday, October 17, 2022  at 12:00  at the Duncan Falls Cemetery, Duncan Falls, Ohio.  Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls will be in charge of service.

Joan was born on Dec 6, 1937 as a twin, to Leona Twiggs Willison and William Willison in Zanesville, Oh.  Joan’s twin sister Joyce passed away at 6 months.  Joan was always a delight to be around.  She traveled in her later years with her brother and his wife for 20 years, seeing many sights in the US.  Joan was known as Grandma to everyone at Willow Haven.  She never meant a person she couldn’t love.  Her most precious life memories were her dogs and grandchildren.  She loved her dogs.

Joan is survived by her brother, Raymond (Joyce) Willison Sr; of Penn. her main caregiver, a son Michael Summers, two grandchildren-Jessica Summers and Coln Summers.  She was preceded in death by her Twin Sister Joyce, her husband Gary Summers, her mother and father, Stepfather Forest Crumbaker and sister Shirley Tracy.

There is a special place in Heaven for our special Joan.  The family wants to thank the Staff at Willow Haven for loving and caring for Joan during the last few years.  She loved being at Willow Haven, they made her feel very special and loved. A special thanks to the Buckeye Hospice of Ohio. Rev Jeep Graham will officiate the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Zanesville Animal Shelter.
