Joan (Carter) Harrop

December 7, 1929 — November 15, 2021

Philo

Joan (Carter) Harrop, 92, of Philo, went to be with her lord and savior on November 15, 2021, while surrounded by her loving family and under the care of Genesis Hospice.

A memorial service will be held at  1pm on Saturday, November 27, 2021, at the Cornerstone Full Gospel Church, 4509 Salt Creek Drive, Duncan Falls, OH, 43734.

Joan was born in Plain City, Ohio, on December 7, 1929. She is the daughter of the late Charles William and Ruth (Wright) Carter. She worked for many years at Essix Wire, and she spent some time in Naples, Florida as a caregiver. Joan could finish even the most complicated crossword puzzles, and she loved to crochet. However, Joan’s favorite past-time was spending time with her family.

Joan is survived by her children, Carolyn Harrop, Robert Jr. (Norma) Harrop, Kathy Harrop, Howard (Loretta) Harrop, and Nellie Harrop, all of Philo; her twenty grandchildren, thirty nine great-grandchildren, and nine great-great grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Joan is preceded in death by her husband, Robert H. Harrop Sr.; her grandchildren, Shannon Harrop Jr. and Xavier Harrop; and her furry companion, Smokey.

The Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls is caring for the Harrop Family.
