Janice A. Glass

Janice A. Glass, 76 of New Concord, passed away peacefully on August 30, 2021 surrounded by her loving family at the Beckett House in New Concord.

Janice was born in Zanesville on March 10, 1945. She is the daughter of the late Ralph and Hazel (Harding) Tom. Janice retired from Muskingum University, where she worked as a cook for many years, for Phi Kappa Tau. She also worked as a cook for the Girl Scout’s Camp Wakatomika. Janice enjoyed baking and cooking, and was an avid square dancer. She was a member of the Rix Mills Presbyterian Church, and loved spending time with her family.

Janice is survived her children George F. (Sandy) Glass III, William L. (Melissa) Glass, and Jeffrey S. (Heather) Glass; her very special nephew, Jason (Debbie) Tom; her grandchildren, Keri (Kyle) Sharp, George IV “Bubba” (Taylor) Glass, Makala Glass, Jonathan (Jamie) Holley, Shelbie Glass, Tylor Glass, Levi Glass, and Laikin Glass; her step-grandchildren, Bree (Erik) Bateman, Katelyn (Corey) Richards, Hayley (Brandon) Richards, Brandon Misner, Tyler (Courtney) Misner, and Chelsea (Micheal) Pinkerton; her step-great-grandchildren, Jaylynn, Nevaeh, Maci, Ryder, Karson, and Waylon;  and her siblings, Rose Mary (Sam) Saliba, Patty (John) Burr, Beth Tom, Jim (Kathy) Tom, Bobbie (Mic Belvins) Tom, Debbie (Roy) Robinson, and Margie Tom.

In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her husband, George F. Glass Jr, whom passed away on April 6, 2018.

In keeping with Janice’s wishes, a caring cremation has taken place, and a memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, September 4, 2021, at the Rix Mills Presbyterian Church, with Pastor Keith Taylor officiating. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Salt Creek Cemetery. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the Glass family.
