James H. Staley

James H. Staley, 85 of Philo, passed away peacefully at his home on February 14, 2023 surrounded by his loving family.

Jim was born in Philo, Ohio on October 2, 1937. He is the son of the late Henry and Bertie (Reed) Staley. He worked for the Ohio Ferro Alloy in Philo and also for the Alabama Ferro Alloy. Jim served on the Harrison Township Volunteer Fire Dept. and the Philo Village Counsel.

Jim is survived by his wife, Vicky (Larimer) Staley, whom he married August 2, 1991; his children, Debbie Abella, Patrick Staley, Jenny (Reid) Walters, Kevin (Sherri) Bunting and Kim Payne; his daughter-in-law, Martha Staley; twenty grandchildren; eight great grandchildren and two on the way!; his brother, Joe (Anita) Staley; his sister, Mary Lou Knolton; several nieces, nephews, cousins and friends, including a very special friend, Mike Thomas.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his first wife, Carol Staley, who passed away October 12, 1984; his son, William “Bill” Staley, who passed away in 1996; and his son-in-law Phil Abella.

Visitations will be 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, February 19, 2023 at the Farus Funeral Home, 383 Main Street, Duncan Falls, Ohio.  Graveside services will be 1 pm on Monday, February 20, 2023 at the Duncan Falls Cemetery where he will be laid to rest beside his first wife.  Eric Blake will officiate the service.
