James Mike Simpson

James Michael “Mike” Simpson, 65 of McConnelsville, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2020 surrounded by his loving family, while under the care of Genesis Hospice at the Morrison House.

James was born in Gallipolis, Ohio on May 8, 1954.  He is the son of Geraldine (Tennant) Simpson of Georgia and the late George Simpson.  He retired from Ross Abbott Laboratories.  He was a member of the Moose Lodge # 2317 in  Rokeby Lock and he served his country in the U.S. Navy.

In addition to his mother, James is survived by his son, Jimmy Simpson of McConnelsville, his sister, Deborah Jean (Fred) Cromer of Georgia and his nephew, Shawn Mitchell and two nieces, Melissa Sanchez and Stefanie Assuncao.

In addition to his father, James is preceded in death by an infant brother, George Allen Simpson and his brother, David Wayne Simpson.

In keeping with his wishes, a private memorial service will be held on top of the hill.  The Farus Funeral Home is entrusted with caring for the Simpson family.
