James Ray Morris passed away on Monday, March 14th while in the care of the Red Carpet Health Care Center, he was 68 years old. James was born on December 17th, 1947 in Zanesville, Ohio to Warren and Wanda Morris. A devoted husband and father, James worked as a Journeyman Electrician, and enjoyed coon hunting, hanging around and talking with his friends, and tossing out one-liners. James proudly served in the U.S. Army for two years.
James is predeceased by his parents, and his father-in-law, Gilbert Ables. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Vicki Morris, his son, Jason (Melissa) Morris, his daughter, Trisha Morris, and his son, Travis (Erin) Morris, his cherished grandchildren, Caitlyn Morris & Levi Morris. He is deeply missed by his sister, Judy Fahner, and his brother, Jerry (Johanna) Morris, his mother-in-law, Ruby Maxine Ables, his sister-in-law, Debbie (Kenny) Lake, and his brother-in-law, Kenny Ables, as well as a host of nieces and nephews. James will forever be remembered by his best buddy, and second shadow, his dog, Tiny.
A private graveside service, with burial of ashes and military honors at the Pleasant Hill Cemetery at Noon on March 19th. The family would like to extend their gratitude to the nurses at Red Carpet who cared for James in such a compassionate manner. Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the family and making arrangments.
