James O. McIntosh, 94, formerly of Crooksville passed away Tuesday, December 17, 2013 at Genesis Hospice, Morrison House. James was born March 8, 1919 in Brush, Colorado, the son of the late Hollis Gerald McIntosh and Merle (Utley) Koonsman. He lived in Kentucky until 1968 when the family moved to Crooksville, he worked in the coal mines for 44 years, receiving the UMWA Coal Miners award in 2011; he enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling jokes, singing and traveling. His greatest hobby was riding his motorcycles up until he was 90 years old and his greatest love was telling people about God's Kingdom and its promises for the future. James is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Alma J. (Williams) McIntosh whom he married June 29, 1947; his children Martha "Marty" (John) Madinger of Zanesville, Hollis (Beth) McIntosh of Avondale, Owen (Cinda) McIntosh of Crooksville and Timothy McIntosh of Lancaster; his sisters Mavis (Jim) Hathaway and Mary Catherine Neese; 12 grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and six nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, James is preceded in death by his loving stepmother Pina McIntosh, his sisters Delores Bevins, Hazel Mason, a grandson Nathan McIntosh and a nephew Neil Sisk. He is one of Jehovah's Witnesses at Six-Mile Turn in New Lexington. A memorial service will be held 2 pm December 21st at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in New Lexington, 1685 Ohio 93, New Lexington, OH.
