James A. Mccall

James “Jim” A. McCall, 90 of New Concord, passed away peacefully at the Beckett House on February 6, 2023.

Jim was born on March 10, 1932 at home on the family farm. He is the son of the late John K. and Ruth A. (Wise) McCall.  He was a lifelong area farmer and he retired from RCA and NCR where he worked as Product Leader and in his free time he enjoyed spending time in the outdoors and fishing.

Jim is survived by his children, Marcie (Dan) Johnston, Barbara (Phillip “Kelly”) Adkins, Jimmy McCall, and John (Becky) McCall; his grandchildren, Jennifer (John) Johnston-Stoner, Danny (Carrie) Johnston, Mike (Michelle) Johnston, Hope (Shane) Finney, Charity Pittman, Faith Pittman, Tracy (Chris) Elkins, Melissa (Randy) Malenda, and Kimberly McCall; his siblings, William McCall, Mabel Ratliffe, Bonnie Sheville, Lois (Tom) Hobart; his twenty-one great-grandchildren; as well as several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In addition to his parents, Jim is preceded in death by his wife, Martha B. (Marshall) McCall, who passed away on March 21, 1976; his great-grandson, Jet Stoner; his sister, Alma C. Stanley; his sister-in-law, Jeanie McCall; as well as his brother-in-laws, Gary Stanley and Richard Ratliffe.

Visitations will be 4 to 7 pm on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord, 63 West Main Street in New Concord, Ohio. Funeral services will be at 1 pm on Friday, February 10, 2023. Pastor Tim Pollock will officiate the service. Jim will be laid to rest beside his wife in Bloomfield Cemetery.
