James "Jim" E. Harmon

James “Jim” E. Harmon, 80 of Chandlersville, passed away on July 4, 2024.

Jim was born on March 10, 1944, in Zanesville, to the late Earl and Rose Marie (Webber) Harmon. Jim’s career at Sidwell Gravel Quarry spanned over several decades, where he worked as an equipment operator before retiring. His commitment to his work was matched only by his love for his family, whom he provided for tirelessly. Aside from work, Jim was a lifetime farmer and cherished his farm. He was an active member in his community, being a member of the Chandlersville Methodist Church, Gage and Gavel Masonic Lodge #448, and the Cambridge Scottish Rites.

Jim is survived by his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Thaila Z. (Sheppard) Harmon; his daughters, Vera Hook, Lucy (Matt) McCallister, and Melinda Noel; his step-sons, Jason Dunn and Chad (Heather) Dunn; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his sister, Martha Harmon; his fishing buddy, Jeff Gannon; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

In addition to his parents, Jim was preceded in death by his siblings, Ed Harmon and an infant brother.

A visitation for Jim will be held at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm on Monday, July 8, 2024. Masonic services will be held at 6:00 pm on Monday. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, July 9 at 10:30 am at the funeral home. Jim will be laid to rest in Chandlersville Cemetery.
