Heather Collins

July 30, 1942 — October 14, 2015

Heather Collins, 73, of North Olmsted, Ohio went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Wednesday October 14, 2015, after a courageous lifelong battle with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease.

Mary-Lynn Heather Swingle Collins was born in Zanesville on July 30, 1942.  Heather was a member of the Disciples of Christ Church in North Olmsted Township. Heather graduated from Philo High School, Meredith Business College (Zanesville) and Bowling Green State University with a degree in education. During her years of employment Heather worked for Muskingum County Auditor’s Office, taught school in Senecaville, worked in the auto industry in Cleveland and worked in property management with her husband Greg. Heather enjoyed a wide range of activities including horseback riding, flower gardening, driving her red sports cars, dabbling in art, singing in choirs, and visiting with her friends.

Heather was preceded in death by her loving husband Greg Collins and her parents, Dalton and Genevieve, (nee Jenkins) Swingle.  She is survived by a brother, Howard Swingle, of Blacksburg, VA and many, many friends in the Cleveland and Zanesville areas.  Thankfully, Heather’s last few days were filled with some of favorite things, visiting her friends in Southeastern Ohio and driving her red sports car.
