Hazel M. Thomas

Hazel M. Thomas, 84 of Zanesville passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on February 7, 2016 at Genesis Hospital.
Hazel was born in Zanesville on May 5, 1931 the daughter of Frank E. and Marjorie E. Grant. She was a former member of the Moose Lodge in Zanesville as well as the VFW and the DAV. She was a faithful member of the South Zanesville Church of the Nazarene.
Hazel is survived by her children Jerry L. Thomas and Hazel M. Thomas-Fisher; her grandchildren Juanita Thomas-Hill, Jerry L. Thomas Jr., June E. Thomas-Fisher, Roger Thomas, Mandy Shiplet, Holly Thomas, Andy Fisher, Brittany Fisher; her great grandchildren Mason, Ashton, Landon, Kaylnn, Colton, Hunter, Bailey, Dean and Anna and her brothers Richard L. (Barbara) Grant and Seth Grant.
In addition to her parents, Hazel is preceded in death by her husband James Thomas who passed away in 2009; her infant daughter Shirley Thomas; her brothers Hermon, Earl, Pete, Robert, Charles, Vaughn, Leroy, Lymon and George Grant and her two grandsons Larry Fisher Jr and Brandon Michael Fisher.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours for Hazel from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, February 9, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 11 am Wednesday with Pastor Steve Harrop officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
