Harry W. Crippen

Harry W. Crippen, 73 of New Concord, went to be with his late wife, Kay, on Friday, October 25, 2024.

Harry was born on November 3, 1950, in Zanesville. He is the son of the late William “Bill” H. and Lena M. (Chaney) Crippen. Harry was a devoted husband and father who always made sure his family was taken care of first. He worked in the oil fields and was an area farmer. Harry was an avid fisher and hunter, and he enjoyed watching Ohio teams sports as well as local dirt track races.

Harry is survived by his daughter, Tina Whiteley; his grandchildren, Kimberly Whiteley and Chase Lively; his siblings, Mary Parmer, Cherry “Sherry” (Robert) Roberts, Jerry (Darlene) Crippen, Terry (David) Klies, and Billie (Ryan) Gheen; as well as his many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Harry is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Kay D. (Lent) Crippen, whom he married on September 5, 1970, and who passed away on June 7, 2024; his infant daughter, Tammy Crippen, who passed away in March of 1971; his parents-in-law, James and Colleen (McGath) Lent; as well as his brother-in-law, Robert McGath.

In keeping with Harry’s wishes, a caring cremation will take place. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the Crippen family.
