Harold K. "Sonny" Paul

Harold K. “Sonny” Paul, 88, of Zanesville, went to be with the Lord and reunited with his loving wife of 61 years on December 15, 2024, at Altercare of Zanesville.

Born on August 22, 1936, in Columbus to Chauncey Dozer and Phyllis (Tracey) Francis. He was blessed to have had the love and guidance of his adopted parents, Leo J. Paul and Hilda (Holzshuher) Paul.

Sonny enjoyed a fulfilling and rewarding career. He worked for 14 years at McGraw-Edison and later retired in 1996 after 27 years as a shipping manager at General Electric in New Concord.  He was a faithful member of Maranatha Bible Church in Zanesville.

While at Altercare, Sonny enjoyed his therapy and the activities, especially playing bingo, where he formed many meaningful friendships. Known for his kind heart and warm personality, Sonny never met a stranger.

He is survived by his four children, Randi Paul, Bobbi (Carl) Covey, Kenneth (Patty) Paul, and Pamela Paul; his grandchildren, Kyle Paul, Kayla Calendine, Joshua (Morgan) Barker, Joseph Barker, Allison Covey; five great-grandsons, Steel, Kane, Anderson, Alden, and Callum; brothers, Dean Dozer and Don (Loretta) Dozer, sisters, Peggy Cox and Linda (Ken) Mills; sister-in-law, Bonnie Paul. He will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

Sonny was preceded in death by his beloved wife of 61 years, Gayle M. Paul, who passed away on March 2, 2016, his grandson, Shane Paul; his brothers, Leo A. Paul, Donald Paul, Bob Dozer; sisters, Patricia Hayes and Shirley Johnson.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, December 19, 2024, from 3 to 6 PM at Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services will take place at 11 AM on Friday with Pastor Chris Brown officiating. Sonny will be laid to rest beside his wife in Salt Creek Cemetery.
