Harold W. Johnson

Harold W. Johnson, 88 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday, November 22, 2023, at his residence.

Harold was born on November 25, 1934, in Coshocton. He is the son of the late John Johnson and Iva Roberts Johnson Stringfellow. Harold proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1952 to 1955. After the army, he worked for Davie Davis, and then was a brick layer and did masonry work for Archer’s Masonry where he retired. Harold was a hardworking man who loved to provide for his family. He enjoyed the time he spent with his loved ones the most, but he also liked to garden, paint, and do word searches.

Harold is survived by his children, Tracey L. Wade, Jody M. Johnson, Lynnette Schriner and Julie Johnson; his many grandchildren; his many great-grandchildren; as well his pets Jojo, Miley, Ice, and Beast.

In addition to his parents, Harold is preceded in death by his beloved wife of forty-four years, Jeannette L. Johnson, who passed away on July 25, 2023; his children Elizabeth Ann Johnson, Peter William Johnson; his sons-in-law, Robert Schriner and Anthony Johnson; his grandchildren, Robert Schriner and Rhonda Wade; and his siblings; Robert (Bud) Johnson, John Johnson Jr., James (Jim) Johnson, William (Bill) Johnson, E. Jeanette Wright, Donna Smithson, Janice Blain, and Dora Mae Ulrich.

Visitations will be from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm on Friday, November 24, 2023, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Visitations will also be from 11 am to 12 pm on Saturday, November 25, 2023, at the funeral home. Funeral services for Harold will be held at 12 pm on the same day. Pastor Marc Caton will officiate the service.
