H. Dale Tom

H. Dale Tom, 92 of Chandlersville, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 23, 2023, at the Genesis Hospice Morrison House surrounded by his loved ones.

Dale was born on November 12, 1931, in Rix Mills, Ohio. He is the son of the late Roy and Lucy (Howard) Tom. Dale proudly served his country in the United States Army. After the military, Dale worked for and eventually retired from the Ohio Ferro Alloy after working for over thirty years. He was an avid outdoorsman who also enjoyed farming and playing euchre with his siblings. Dale’s kind and hardworking spirit touched many lives and he will be greatly missed by those he leaves behind.

Dale is survived by his daughter, Tawny Holdren of Chandlersville; his sons, Ronald (Kathleen) Tom of Dresden and Randall (Connie) Tom of Zanesville; his eight grandchildren, Chad (Hollie) Tom, Jamie (Jay Gooden) Phillips, Randy (Jenn) Kepler, Ryan (Candice) Kepler, Brittany (Travis) Shaw T.J. (Mandy) Holdren, Randy Tom and Kristin (Derek) Savage; his sixteen great-grandchildren; his siblings, Don Tom of Zanesville, Chuck (Patsy) Tom of New Concord, Alice LePage of Zanesville, Helen (Gary) Brillhart of Applecreek, Mary Lou West of Cumberland, JoAnn (Charles) Klies of Chandlersville; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, Dale is preceded in death by his beloved wife of fifty-six years, Juanita L. (Drumm) Tom, who passed away on February 7, 2012; his siblings, Harold “Sam” Tom, Dennis Tom, and Maude Wilson.

Visitations for Dale will be held from 2 to 5 pm on Sunday, November 26, 2023, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral services for Dale will be held at 1 pm on Monday, November 27, 2023, at the funeral home. Pastor Andy Winters will officiate the service. Dale will reunited with Juanita in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
