On July 27, 1935 Gusta Lee Ross was born to George and Juanita Ross in Norwich, Ohio. She grew into a wonderful person, devoted wife to 3 husbands until their passing, and caring mother of 5. Her pies could draw a crowd at any church social. She loved the family farm and was no stranger to the work that was involved. In her younger years, she enthusiastically contributed to the Ohio Child Conservation League. She was a member of the Norwich United Methodist Church where she directed many Christmas programs when her children were small. She was so proud of her father’s legacy in the Boy Scouts of America and delighted that all her sons followed in his footsteps. Her eyes lit up when she spoke of it.

Gusta passed peacefully on January 20, 2017 at Grant Medical Center.

Loved ones that welcomed Gusta in Heaven are her parents, George Lake (husband), Curtis Alexander (husband), Gail Prouty (husband), Collen Snyder (daughter), and Oliver Lake (great grandson).

Loved ones that remain to miss her are sister Wanema Ann Eppley (Lee), George Vinton Ross (Vicky), son Kenneth Lake (Deborah), son Bryan Lake (Linda), son Dana Lake (Holly), daughter Pamela Thompson (Todd), and son-in-law Carl Snyder. Gusta leaves fourteen grandchildren to miss her as well: Lindsey Lake, Daniel Lake, Lacey Lake, Joshua Lake (Jennifer), Jessica McCloud, Jacob Lake, Dustin Smart (Megan), Alicia McGee (James), Taylor Martin, Alivia Lake, Ross Lake, Matthew Bradley (Amanda), Tanner Bradley (Cara), and Garrett Bradley. Thirteen great grandchildren will also miss her loving arms.

Friends and family may attend calling hours on Wednesday, January 25th at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord from the hours of 3 to 7 pm.  There will be an additional viewing on January 26th at the Norwich United Methodist Church from 11am to 11:30am, with services starting promptly at 11:30am; Wayne Hogue will officiate, and burial will follow at the Norwich Presbyterian Cemetery.
