Gertrude Smith

Gertrude Mae Smith, 82 of Duncan Falls, passed away at 10:51 am, Saturday, February 22, 2014 at Good Samaritan Medical Center in Zanesville. Gertrude was born September 14, 1931 in Muskingum County the daughter of the late Charles Paul and Helen Marie (Heisey) Baker. She worked for Kresge's 5& 10 Store, Merrill Lynch and for the Philo High School Cafeteria; she was a member of the Philo United Methodist Church, a member of the Philo-Duncan Falls Home Makers and Olive Branch OES #251. Gertrude is survived by her two sons Robert (Renee) Smith of Zanesville and Thomas (Rebecca) Smith of Roseville; her three grandchildren Charles "Wade" Smith, Logan Thomas Smith and Madison Nicole Smith; her brother Paul (Margaret) Baker and her sister Barbara (John) Ball both of Zanesville. In addition to her parents, Gertrude is preceded in death by her husband Lewis E. Smith who passed away November 27, 1996 and her brother Eugene Baker. Visitations will be 5 to 8 pm Monday at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday with Rev. Terry Priest officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Duncan Falls Cemetery. www.farushfh.com
