Herschel Gene Stall, 95, of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his loving family on Friday, February 11, 2022 at 2:25 p.m. after a short illness.
Gene was born on January 5, 1927 to Wilma and William Ernest “Joe” Stall. He was a graduate of Philo High School. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He retired from General Electric after 30 plus years.
Gene was devoted to his family, attended church activities, sporting events, dance recitals, to cheer them on with support. He enjoyed bowling, throwing horseshoes, fishing, camping, traveling, playing Euchre with his friends at Chandlersville’s Community Center, cheering on the Cincinnati Reds and Ohio State Buckeyes. Gene served on the Duncan Falls Cemetery Board. He was a member of Chandlersville United Methodist Church.
Gene is survived by his wife Donna (Young) Stall of 40 years. Sons Gary (Sharon) Stall, and Mark Green; daughters Karen (Tim) Brock, Susan (Larry) Stall, Mindy (Dan) Snider and Marilyn Howard; sisters Vonda Lee Spring, Lavera Huff; brother Paul Stall; 19 grandchildren, Amy (Kevin) Hindel, Greg (Kersten) Stall, Brian (Melissa) Stall, Joleen (Shawn) Sloat, Abbey (Tim) Gaal, Amanda (T.J.) Williams, Matt (Jenna) Brock, Trisha (Josh) Wilson, Michelle (Alex) Perkins, Patrick (Amanda) Howard, Nicholas (Veronica) Howard, McKenzie Snider, Makyah (Brad) Dittoe, Mark Green Jr., J.J. (Montana) Green, Kylie (Mandy) Dennis, Jacob (Caitlin) Williams, Issac Green, 34 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
He is proceeded in death by his son Larry D. Stall, first wife Marvel F. (Mitchell) Stall; his grandson H. Glenn Howard; his siblings, Russell Stall, Janice Joyce Stall, and Neva Esther Stall.

Visitations will be from 4 pm to 7 pm on Monday, February 14, 2022, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 am. Pastor Anita Carnes will officiate the service. Gene will be laid to rest in Duncan Falls Cemetery with full military honors provided by George Selsam VFW Post #1058, American Legion #29, and the United States Army Honor Guard.
