Gary G. Hoffman

Gary Gene Hoffman, 84 of Cambridge, passed away peacefully on Sunday, January 21 2024 at the Beckett House in New Concord.

Gary was born on June 17, 1939 in Murray City, Ohio. He is the son of the late Kenneth and Bernice (Bateman) Hoffman. Gary married Joan A. Hoffman on December 21, 1971. Gary worked as a meat cutter for Kroger’s for many years where he eventually retired in 2002. Gary was a proud member of the Masonic Lodge #66 in Cambridge. He had a passion for restoring classic cars. Gary also enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, especially when he attended their sporting events.

Gary is survived by his children, Vernita (Leonard) Graham, Greg (Cindy) Hoffman, Chris Heddleson, Kenny (Crystal) Hoffman, and Gary (Tina) Hoffman II; his many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his several nieces, cousins, and many friends.

Along with his parents, Gary is preceded in death by his loving wife of forty-nine years Joan A. (Henry) Hoffman; his sister, Doradeane Traugh; as well as his son-in-law, Dan Heddleson.

In keeping with his wishes, a private family service will be held. He will be reunited with Joan in East Union Cemetery in Claysville. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the Hoffman family.
