Gale C. Kirkbride

October 21, 1934 — December 19, 2018

Gale C. Kirkbride, 84 of Philo, passed away on December 19, 2018 at Genesis Hospital while under the care of Genesis Hospice.

Gale was born in Zanesville on October 21, 1934.  He is the son of the late Gale Norman Kirkbride and Margaret Rowena (Jarrett) Vaughn.  He retired in 1989 from Rockwell International where he worked as a machinist.  He was a member of American Legion Post #29 and VFW Post #1058 as well as a life member of VFW Post #4980 in Winterhaven FL.  He served his country in the US Navy.  He enjoyed playing penny machines, golfing and watching car races.

Gale is survived by his wife Catherine (Revenaugh) Kirkbride, whom he married October 8, 1989; his four children, Kimberly E. (Tim)  Stottsberry of Zanesville, Karen J. Kuntz of Columbus, Gale (Amy) Kirkbride of Zanesville and Doug Kirkbride of Coshocton; his stepchildren, Gary (Carla) Weaver of Malta, Connie (Gary) Strickland of Winterhaven, FL, Greg (Deb) Weaver of Malta and Kim (Brian) Minosky of Malta; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; his siblings, Bill (Mary Jane) Kirkbride, Vicki Birkheimer, Butch (Holly) Vaughn, Gary (Hope) Vaughn, Sherry Vaughn, Greg (Linda) Vaughn and Tim (Erin) Vaughn.

In addition to his parents, Gale is preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie E. Kirkbride who passed away in 1980 and his sister, Peg Calihan and a stepson, Jeffrey Weaver.

Visitations will be 11 to 1 pm Saturday at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 1 pm Saturday with Pastor Marc Caton officiating.  He will be laid to rest in Rose Hill Cemetery with Full Military Honors provided by VFW Post #1058, American Legion Post #29 and the US Navy Color Guard.
