Frank D. Rutherford, 67, of McConnelsville, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family in the early morning hours of Tuesday, June 23, 2026.
He was born on July 8, 1958, in Gallipolis, Ohio, to the late Franklin and Edna (Martindale) Rutherford.
Frank spent most of his life working as a truck driver, a career he truly enjoyed. He loved the freedom of the open road and treasured the time he spent traveling with family and friends.
An avid outdoorsman, Frank found great joy in nature, especially hunting and fishing. Fishing was his greatest passion, and he could often be found casting a line, tending to his nets, or heading off to discover his next favorite fishing spot. The countless hours he spent on the water created many cherished memories and reflected his deep appreciation for the outdoors.
Frank is survived by his beloved children, Amie Krause, Danielle (Butch) Mason, Jennifer (Brian) Dilts, and Franklin Rutherford; his grandchildren, Michelle, Chris, Caleb, Darren, Desarae, Katlyn, Destiny, Summer, Bree, Cassie, and Mackenzie; his two great-grandchildren, Drake and Fiona; his siblings, Chuck Rutherford, John Rutherford, Frankie Rutherford, Sandy Rutherford, and Patty Scroggs; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
In addition to his parents, Frank was preceded in death by his better half, Michelle S. McGough, who passed away on November 2, 2025; his brother, Richard Rutherford; and his faithful shepherd, Selena.
Though he will be deeply missed, the memories he created with his family and friends will be treasured for generations to come. His love for the outdoors, his passion for fishing, and the time he shared with those he loved will never be forgotten.
Family and friends may call from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, June 26, 2026, with the funeral service immediately following. Burial will take place at Duncan Falls Cemetery, where Frank will be reunited with Michelle. Pastor Darren Tolbert will officiate the service
