Forrest “Wort” E. Savage, 77, formerly of Roseville, passed away at Adams Lane Care Center while under the care of Genesis Hospice on January 10, 2016.
Wort was born in Roseville on March 27, 1938 the son of the late Fred & Alta (Fluhart) Savage. Wort was a graduate of Roseville class of 1956. After returning home from the Army he worked for Meadow Gold Dairy, American Electric Power and he retired from Robinson Ransbottom Pottery. He served as an EMT and volunteer fire fighter for the Roseville and Neffs Fire Department. He served his country in the US Army.
Wort is survived by his son Kipp Savage of Philo; his grandson Tim Savage of Roseville, his sister Evelyn DeMent of Roseville; his uncle Leonard and Fay Savage of Lucasville, OH; four nieces and eleven nephews; many great nieces and nephews and the mother of his son, Sue (Harlan) Savage
In addition to his parents, Wort is preceded in death by his two brothers and sister-in-laws Runt and Shirley Savage and Wayne and Ruth (Watts) Savage; four sisters and brother-in-laws Susie and Gary Davis, Shirley (Vonnie) and Glenn Huddleston, Linda and Leonard Neff and infant Rita Savage and a brother-in-law Frank DeMent and niece Linda (Davis) Shirkey.
Visitations will be held 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held 1 pm Wednesday, with Pastor Karen Osborn officiating. He will be laid to rest in Duncan Falls Cemetery with full military honors.
