Eunice J. Taylor, 94, of Chandlersville, passed away on January 10, 2016 at her farm home.
Eunice was born in Bemidji, Minnesota on September 25, 1921, the daughter of the late Elmer and Beryl Hallgren. She and her family moved to Everett, Washington where she met and later married Army GI Logan Taylor on April 7, 1946, who brought her back to Ohio and to the family farm. Eunice worked for Starrs Department Store, she helped out the at the local voting polls and was a 4-H advisor for the Busy Muskies 4-H club. She never met a stranger and went out of her way to meet new neighbors. Eunice loved to knit, sew and crochet. She was a member of the Chandlersville United Methodist Church.
Eunice is survived by her daughter Karen (Randy) Shilling of Zanesville, son Dwight Taylor (Debbie Kirsch) of Chandlersville, son Karl Dean Taylor of Chandlersville and Melanie (Jesse) Glosser of near Adamsville; her grandchildren include Derek Shilling of Zanesville, Deron Shilling of Barnesville, Sherry Gilkerson of Chandlersville, Brian Taylor of Chesapeake, Virginia, Shana Brooks of Marietta, and Corey Brooks of St Charles, Missouri; her great grandchildren include Paige and Skyler Gilkerson, Jocelynn and Brinley Shilling, and Bryar and Brogan Shilling, and Owen and Aubrey Taylor.
Eunice is also survived by her West Coast siblings Guin Hallgren of Marysville, Wa, Elsie Hinckley of Tacoma, Wa, sister in law ZoeAnn Hallgren of Marysville Wa, and brother Dale (Shirley) Hallgren of Surprise, Arizona.
In addition to her parents, Eunice was preceded in death by the husband Logan "LG" Taylor who passed away on June 29, 2011, her brother Chester of Washington, and the night before her death a brother Don, also of Washington.
Visitation will be 3 to 6 Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at the Farus Funeral Home in Duncan Falls and from 12 to 1 pm Thursday at the Chandlersville United Methodist Church, where funeral services will follow at 1 pm with Pastor Gary Fitzgerald officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Chandlersville Cemetery.
In lieu of Flowers, contributions may be made to the Chandlersville United Methodist Church or the Adamsville United Methodist Church.
