Estelle R. Shipley, 85 of Norwich passed away peacefully at her home on August 1, 2015.
She was born in Pittsburgh, PA on February 18, 1930, the daughter of the late John S and Alma B Ginther. She previously worked for Muskingum College in the cafeteria for several years, in addition to that she was an avid artist and she owned and operated her own Art and Ceramic Gallery. She a loving mother to everyone!
Estelle is survived by her children Estelle E (Thomas) George of Mckeesport, PA; John (Virginia) Shipley of New Concord, Susan (Matthew) Berilla of Norwich, William J. (Sallie) Shipley of Evans City, PA, Charles P. (Jan) Shipley of Norwich and Raymond Shipley of Norwich; 9 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; her brothers John (Maryann) Ginther and Richard (Barbara) Ginther and her sister Janice Rhueling.
In addition to her parents, Estelle is preceded in death by her husband Webster J. Shipley who passed away January 25, 2003; her son Robert Shipley who passed away in 1992 and her five sisters.
The family request any memorial contributions be made in Estelle’s name to either, Genesis Hospice, 713 Forest Avenue, Zanesville, OH 43701 or to Christ Our Light Parish, 701 Gomber Ave, Cambridge, OH 43725.
Prayer services will be held at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord at 7pm Monday evening.
Visitations will be 5 to 9 pm Monday, August 3, 2015 at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord and from 9 to 10am Tuesday August 4, 2015 at Christ Our Light Parish in Cambridge. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10AM, with Fr. Robert Borer as celebrant. She will be laid to rest beside her husband and her son in Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
