Enid Audrey Green Maddock “Mom” and “Granny” fell asleep peacefully on Friday night and woke up in the presence of the Lord on Saturday morning February 7, 2026. What a beautiful Homecoming for this gracious and benevolent lady, who had given her life to the Lord when she was only 10 years old.
The wife of Pastor Darrel Maddock, the “love of her life”, no doubt, was there to greet her with open arms. She was so looking forward to being together again.
Beloved mother of two daughters, Linda Butler and Cyndy Powers and Granny to many grandchildren, Christine Wyatt, Audrey Raymond, Wendy (Tim) Glatzer, Milinda Robinson, Melissa (Doug Heckaman) LaRocco, Adam (Nikki) Maddock Cook, Shannon (Chris) Davis, Brian (Denise) Powers, Megan (Jerry) Strain, and Colleen (Joe) Powers; and great grandchildren, Noah Wyatt, Logan, Luke, Owen, Gavin, Dylan, Alexis, Braddock, Bennett, Clarissa, Grace, Abigail, Joey, Daisy, Scarlet, Rowan, Evelyn, Archie, and Sutton. She was the perfect example as to how to live a Christlike life and to be a true servant of God.
She studied God’s word and knew the scripture, occasionally making up a few lines, as needed, in order to instill a message to others.
Enid was a delightful hostess, talented baker, excellent seamstress, demonstrated a quick-witted sense of humor, and scattered wisdom and kindness wherever she went.
Anyone who ever met her found her charming, dedicated, creative and hard-working.
Daughter of the late Melvin and Anna Green, she was born in Indiana on April 19, 1933, the eighth of nine siblings. Granny learned resiliency at an early age and demonstrated it throughout her journey with Alzheimer’s.
Private graveside service will be held for Enid on Friday, February 13, 2026, with Farus Funeral Home of New Concord providing her care and Pastor Amy Vittorio of New Concord United Methodist Church officiating.
Her family wishes to express appreciation to the many friends, family members, and Genesis Healthcare, including Palliative and Hospice, who have provided wonderful care and support.
Enid will be deeply missed, and family and friends may honor her life through acts of kindness with benevolence and grace.
Memorial contributions may also be made to the New Concord United Methodist Church in her name.
