Elva L. Franklin
March 30, 1930 — August 31, 2016
Elva L. Franklin, 86 of Duncan Falls, passed away on August 31, 2016 while under the care of Genesis Hospice at the Morrison House.
Elva was born in Hettie, WV on March 30, 1930 the daughter of the late Okey and Ada Brown. She was a housewife, loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of the Philo United Methodist Church and an avid camper with her Bub camping at Blue Rock and Dillon.
Elva is survived by her children Gordon (Christy) Franklin of Nashport, Scott (Amy) Franklin of Shelby, NC and Gina L. Walters of Duncan Falls; her seven grandchildren Sara, Drew, Joel, George, Lauren, Erica, Jonathon and her seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Elva is preceded in death by her husband Ernest R. “Bub” Franklin who passed away on February 6, 1999; her son Dewey Franklin and a daughter Lita Jo Franklin; her brothers Dewey Brown, John Brown and Thomas Brown and her sisters Garnett Carter, Gladys Adams and Mildred Gregory.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 4 to 7 pm on Friday, September 2, 2016 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 11 am, Saturday with Pastor Dee Rader officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in the Duncan Falls Cemetery.
