Ellen M. Harper

Ellen M. Harper, 88 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 26, 2024, at the Altercare of Zanesville.

Ellen was born on November 17, 1935 in Washington, Pennsylvania. She is the daughter of the late Franklin and Alma (Dunapace) Dobbins. After completing school, Ellen worked for Good Samaritan Hospital and Genesis Hospital’s kitchen, where she dedicated herself to caring for others with unmatched empathy and skill. She was raised Baptist by faith. Ellen cherished her role as a homemaker, where the kitchen was her sanctuary and she delighted in preparing meals for her loved ones. She was a loving, kind and supportive woman. Her goal in life was to help the world in any way that she could. Above all else, Ellen treasured her time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ellen is survived by her children, Doug E. Harper and Rebecca Stewart; her grandchildren; her great-grandchildren; her sister, Janet; as well as her neighbor, Debbie and Chucky.

In addition to her parents, Ellen is preceded in death by her husband, Fred Harper Sr., who passed away on June 28, 2003; her children, David Harper, Carl Harper, Fred Harper Jr., Max Bailey, Pamala Bailey, Rosa Goodrich, and Ellen Wolfe; as well as her son-in-law, Sam Stewart.

Visitations for Ellen will be held from 2 pm to 4 pm on Thursday, May 30, 2024, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls.
