Edith J. Richards
February 21, 1927 — March 2, 2016
Edith Jane Richards, 89, of Zanesville passed away peacefully on March 2, 2016 at Genesis Hospital under the care of Genesis Hospice.
Edith was born February 21, 1927 in Zanesville, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence and Hazel (Davis) Yinger. She retired from Good Samaritan Medical Center where she worked as an LPN, she loved riding motorcycles with her husband and son Larry in the side car, her and her family enjoyed traveling and living in Marana, AZ for 30 years before returning to Zanesville three years ago. She was a member of the St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Zanesville.
Edith is survived by her husband Neil Richards whom she married November 20, 1948; her children Larry Richards of Zanesville, Don (Juanita) Richards of Courtland, VA, Anita Richards of Zanesville and Terry (Marsha) Richards of Nashport; her grandchildren Ryan (Jennifer) Richards, Scott (Kathy) Smith, Eric (Mary) Kennedy-Smith and Jeff (Kylene) Newman; her great grandchildren Kylie Smith, Dalton Smith, Alivia Smith, Garrett Newman, Isabel Newman, Meagan Walker (Caleb) and Ryan Walker; her sisters Becky (Jerry) Hoskinson and Donna (Lee) Moyer, a sister-in-law Hilda Yinger, her special nieces and nephews Phyllis and Ron Payton and Bobby and Soni Karr, a special ‘son and daughter-in-law’ Mike and Barb Sims, many nieces and nephews and her K-9 companion Louie.
In addition to her parents, Edith is preceded in death by her siblings Edgar Yinger, Mary White, Eleanor Yinger, Kenneth Yinger Sr.

Visitations will be 12 to 2 pm and 4 to 6 pm on Saturday, March 5, 2016 at the Farus Funeral Home, Duncan Falls where funeral services will be at 6 pm with Pastor Doris Flynn officiating. In keeping with her wishes, her body will be cremated and buried at a later date in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
