Doris M. Corns

Doris May Corns, 96, of Duncan Falls, passed away 11:23 am, Saturday, November 16, 2013 at Willow Haven Care Center in Zanesville. Doris was born May 1, 1917 in Blue Rock the daughter of the late Joans Everett and Blanche (Howell) Peyton. She was a member of the Maranatha Bible Church on Chandlersville Road, Zanesville. Doris is survived by her son Gerald (Carol) Corns of Zanesville; three daughters Nancy (Louis) Detrick of Duncan Falls, Marilyn Cornett of Zanesville and Teresa Vazquez of Largo, FL; a brother Samuel Mitchell of Philo; a sister Mary Lou Achauer of New Concord; her brother Samuel Mitchell; her grandchildren John, Jim, David, Joe Deitrick, Matt and Tim Cornett, Allison Ditmer, Lindsey Hubal, Mike and Jeff Corns, Andrea Roberts, Lauren Soberon, Paul Evan Vazquez and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Doris is preceded in death by her husband Calvin Walter Corns who passed away in Feb. 17, 1976; a son Denzil Corns who passed away 1980 and her sister Edith Corns who passed away in 2010. Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm Monday, November 18, 2013 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday with Phil Walker and Dale McCallister officiating.
