Donald Wayne West

Donald W. West, 89 of Norwich, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2022, while surrounded by his loving family and while under the care of Genesis Hospice at the Morrison House. Don was born on February 14, 1932 in Sonora, Ohio. He is the son of the late Russell D. and Florence (Jones) West. He owned and operated Don West Construction for many years in the Zanesville area. He served on the Norwich Fire Department for many years where he previously served as the Fire Chief. He was an avid golfer and bowler and he enjoyed collecting old cars and attending car shows. Don is survived by his daughter, Melinda L. (James) Landrum; his three sons, Allen (Mona) West, Doug (Rhonda) West, and Craig (Lori) West; his grandchildren, Shane (Elizabeth) Landrum, Jason (Sarah) Landrum, Keri (Eric) Anderson, Beau West, Shiloh (Karey) West, Deidra (Trisha) West, Lori Dickens, Ed Jirles, and Amanda (Terry) Ruggles; his sixteen great grandchildren; and his Special Friend, Marlene Farley. In addition to his parents, Don is preceded in death by his wife, Kathleen J. West, who passed away on March 4, 1994; his grandson, Joshua West; and his six siblings. Visitations will be held 4 to 7 pm on Friday, January 21, 2022 at the Farus Funeral Home of New Concord, 63 W. Main Street, New Concord, Ohio. Funeral services will be held at 11 am on Saturday. Pastor Keith Taylor will officiate the service. Don will be laid to rest next to his wife in Norwich Presbyterian Cemetery. www.farusfh.com
