Donald G. Tavenner

Donald G. Tavenner, 86 of Deland, Florida, formerly of New Concord, passed away peacefully on December 9,  2021,  while at Ridgecrest Nursing Home in Deland, Florida.

Donald was born in New Concord on February 12, 1935.  He was the son of the late Leonard and Mabel (Gibson) Tavenner.  Donald loved to Ball Room Dance and visit with friends.  He owned Tavenner Farms Mobile Home Sales in New Concord.  He later relocated to Tallahassee, Florida where he established a home painting business. Donald was a member of the New Concord United Methodist Church, Lions International: Concord Masonic Lodge 6887, Scottish Ridge Lodge of Cambridge, Aladdin Shrine Temple of Columbus.

Donald is survived by his children Tammy (Jim) Slagle of Fairview Park,Ohio, Tim (Deanna) Tavenner of Grove City, Ohio and Andy (Vonda) Tavenner of Deltona, Florida,  the mother of his children Vivian Tavenner McDermott; his grandchildren Sarah Slagle, Kevin (Riley) Tavenner, Dustin  (Sydni)Tavenner, Chad  (Hannah)Tavenner and Jordan (Victoria) Tavenner ; great grandchildren Elle Tavenner, Harper Tavenner, Riley Tavenner and C.J. Tavenner.

In addition to his parents,  Donald was preceded in death by his sister Jane Tillett and Brother in law Herbert Tillett and his nephew Scott Tillett.

Calling hours will be held 11 to 12 pm on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at the New Concord United Methodist Church, 20 East High Street, New Concord, Ohio 43762; with a Celebration of Life to follow at noon. Pastor Lisa Kropinak will officiate the service. The Farus Funeral Home of New Concord is caring for the Tavenner family.
