Donald R. Wilson, 67 of Blue Rock passed away in the arms of his loving wife, at his residence on Thursday, September 18, 2014. Don was born November 22, 1946 in Zanesville the son of Elizabeth (Roberts) Wilson of Blue Rock and the late Herman S. Wilson. He served his country in the US Marine Corps, having served as a corporal in Vietnam. He retired from the AEP Plant in Beverly, he was a member of the American Legion Post #24 of McConnelsville, the VFW Philo/Duncan Falls Post #10275 and a member of the NRA. He was an avid outdoorsman who loved to hunt, fish, garden and spend time at his log cabin. He was a very generous man and a great friend to all, he loved all his grandchildren unconditionally. Don is survived by his wife Wanda (Swartz) Wilson, whom he married July 4, 1969; his daughter Donna Jean (Tony) Evans; his grandchildren Donnie (Jenn) Ault, Levi (Leanne Bash) Ault, Marissa Ault, Laken Ault, Rani Snyder and 4 step-grandchildren and his great-grandchildren Dyllon Paul, Jaylee Dawn Ault and Wilson Ray Ault; his brothers Carl (Norma) Wilson, Dick (Nancy) Wilson and Sammy Wilson; his sister and brother in laws Katie (Merlin) Paisley, Sam (Barb) Swartz, Rick (Cindy) Talbert and Randy (Sandy) Talbert and many nieces, nephews and friends. In addition to his father, Don is preceded in death by an infant daughter Debra Rae Wilson, his mother-in-law Thelma Swartz, a brother-in-law James Swartz and a sister-in-law Shirley Talbert. Visitations will be 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm, Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls where funeral services will be held 11 am Sunday with Pastor Roger Brewster officiating. He will be laid to rest in Duncan Falls Cemetery.
