Donald J. Helle

Donald J. Helle, 89 of Chandlersville, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 5, 2017 surrounded by his loving family.
Donald was born in Lucas County on September 23, 1927. He is the son of the late Lawrence and Josephine (St. John) Helle. He previously worked for Benton Carroll Salem School District as a bus driver and as an area farmer. He and his wife attended Blue Rock Baptist Church and he served his country in the US Army Air Corps serving from 1945 to 1947.
Donald is survived by his wife Grace M. Helle whom he married March 24, 1956; his two sons Donald D. (Cathy) Helle of Cannelville and Ronald T. (Christine) Helle of Malta; eight grandchildren, Amanda Helle, Logan Helle, Ronald (Jeannie) Helle, April Herevia, Tamara Bodi, Joseph Helle, Justin Helle and Robert Shelton; his several step-grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Donald is preceded in death by his infant daughter Suzanne Helle and his brother Lawrence C. Helle.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 4 to 8 pm on Friday, February 10, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Visitations will also be held from 10 am to 1 pm Saturday, February 11, 2017 at the Crosser Funeral Home, 301 N. Locust St. Oak Harbor, OH 43449. Funeral Services will be held following visitations at 1 pm. He will be laid to rest in North Oregon Cemetery, Oregon, OH.
