Donald D. French, 82, Blue Rock, passed away Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at his residence.
Don was born in Columbus on February 11, 1932. He is the son of the late William and Ethel (Boring) French. He retired after several years working for Burnham Boiler in Zanesville and he is an area farmer. He is a member of the American Legion in Bexley where he served as a past commander. He proudly served his country in the US Army serving during the Korean Conflict.
Don is survived by his wife Alma (Kirby) French whom he married November 15, 1950. In addition to his wife, Don is survived by his daughter Darlene Massey of Zanesville, his granddaughter Michelle (Dominic) Shaw and two great-grandchildren Cheyenne and Austin Shaw and his one brother William (Leora) French of Groveport.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by his son Stephen French who passed away in 1973; his brothers Harold, Richard, George and Loren French and his sisters Vera French, Virginia Basham, Violet Cox and Vada Hughes.
Visitations will be 2 to 4 pm Sunday, November 9, 2014 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Visitations will also be held 12 to 1 pm Monday at the Obetz Christian Church, 4501 Groveport Road, Obetz, Ohio, where funeral services will be held at 1 pm with Pastor Patrick Whitt officiating. Don will be laid to rest in Obetz Cemetery with full Military Honors.
