Dewey L. Sheets

Dewey L. Sheets, 88 of Blue Rock, passed away on Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Country Lane Gardens, in Thornville.
Dewey was born in Beverly, OH on March 17, 1929. He is the son of the late Ralph and Essie (Gheen) Sheets. He worked for several years on a farm for Lewis McCutcheon. Later he worked for Petroc Oil Company and then for W. J. Lydic Oil Company. He served his country in the US Army.
Dewey is survived by his wife Donna (Crawford) Sheets, whom he married Nov. 5, 1955; his children Connie (Bob) Peterson of Chandlersville, Bonnie (Danny Stewart) Sheets of Zanesville, Gary (Tina) Sheets of Duncan Falls and Larry (Sandy Milstead) Sheets of Philo; eight grandchildren Cheryl, Jeff, Greg, Amy, Gary Jr. Mark, Matt and Jason; six step Grandchildren and several great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.
Dewey is preceded in death by his parents and his several brothers and sisters.
Friends and family are welcome to attend calling hours from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday, with Phil Walker officiating. He will be laid to rest in Duncan Falls Cemetery with full military honors provided by VFW Post #1058 and the U. S. Army Color Guard.
