Debra Marie Shaffer
March 24, 1955 — September 19, 2015
Debra Marie Shaffer passed away peacefully in the presence of her family on Saturday, September 19th, 2015 after a valiant battle with cancer, she was 60 years old. She was born in Caldwell, Ohio on March 24th, 1955 to Samuel and Lula Belle Mellon. She enjoyed going shopping, stopping at yard sales, and decorating her home.
She is predeceased by her brother, Robert Mellon, and her brother‐in‐law, Gary Zumbro. She is survived by her loving husband of 24 years, Steven Shaffer, her children Lacy Ciera (Daniel) Starr, Misty Brooke Barrientos, and Gary Lee Cox. She will be deeply missed by her 5 grandchildren and one great‐grandchild, as well as her sisters, Cheryl (Marvin) Wofter, Lynn (Tony) Groden, Shirley (Gary) Zumbro, and CJ (Kevin) Benson.
Friends and family are welcome to attend Calling Hours for Debra at the Farus Funeral Home of New
Concord from 4 to 7PM on Tuesday, September 22nd. Services will take place on the 23rd, with an
additional calling hour from 10 to 11AM; services will start promptly at 11am, and Pastor Steve Harrop
will officiate. Burial will immediately follow services and will be held at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in New Concord.
