Danny Eugene Jewell, 75 of Zanesville, passed away peacefully at Genesis Hospice on Sunday, February 15, 2026, with his loving wife by his side.

Before his military service, Danny met the love of his life, Diane, at a bowling alley when he offered to give her a lesson. That simple moment began a lifelong partnership. They were married, and shortly thereafter, Danny entered military service.

Danny proudly served his country as a veteran of the United States Army, with service in Vietnam as part of Army Security. His dedication and discipline during those years reflected the strong work ethic and integrity that would define his life.

Most importantly, Danny loved the Lord, his Savior, and sought to live his life in faithful service to Him. His faith was evident in both word and deed, as he joyfully served through his church and community.

Following his military service, Danny worked for Brockway Glass for ten years, from 1973 to 1983. With an entrepreneurial spirit and a natural ability to connect with people, he later established his own business, Dan Jewell Construction, where he built more than projects—he built lasting relationships.

Beginning in 1992, Danny joined Fuller’s Fairways Golf Course as a part-time employee while continuing his construction business. Known for his friendly demeanor and strong sales skills, he became a familiar and valued presence to coworkers and patrons alike. He was an avid golfer and especially loved to golf with his family.

In addition, he devoted time to Habitat for Humanity, using his construction skills to serve others before retiring from the construction trade. Danny continued working at Fuller’s Fairways until 2022, when he retired.

A ministry especially close to Danny’s heart was collating John and Romans Scripture booklets and assembling veteran outreach packets, a reflection of both his deep faith and his lifelong care for fellow veterans.

Throughout his life, Danny excelled in sales, but even more so in relationships, service, and faith. He will be remembered for his love of the Lord, his commitment to serving others, and his unwavering work ethic.

Surviving Danny are his beloved wife of 56 years, Diane (Fuller) Jewell; his children, Lori (Dennis) Wilkening of Ankeny, Iowa, and Jeremy (Cari) Jewell of Norwich; his cherished grandchildren, Collin, Clayton (wife LaVay), Jordan, Norah, and Rylee; his brother, Rolland (Debbie) Jewell of Columbus; and his sisters, Gloria Jewell (Michael Clark) Snack of Florida, Sandy Jewell Alton of Zanesville, and Nancy Jewell Smith of Zanesville.

He was preceded in death by his father, Rolland Jewell; his mother, Shirley Jewell Buckley; his stepfather, George Buckley; his sister, Marsha Walker; and his brother, Jeff Jewell.

Danny’s legacy lives on through his family, his service to his country, his steadfast faith, and the many lives he touched.

Visitations will be held from 4 PM to 7 PM on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the Farus Funeral Home of Duncan Falls. A funeral service will be held the following day at 11 AM. Pastor Chris Brown will officiate the funeral service. Danny will be laid to rest at Zanesville Memorial Park with full military honors provided by George Selsam VFW Post #1058 and the United States Army Color Guard.
