Clarence C. Carpenter, 75 of Cumberland, passed away Monday, February 10th 2014 at Southeastern Medical Center in Cambridge. Clarence was born April 12, 1938 in Freeland, Ohio the son of the late John and Eva (Warne) Carpenter. He retired from McGraw Edison, he enjoyed spending time on the farm and hunting and watching the Ohio State Buckeyes. Clarence is survived by his wife Carolyn (King) Carpenter whom he married November 2, 1963; his children Brenda (John) Reese of Byesville, Larry (Shannon) Carpenter of Cumberland, Gary Carpenter of Dexter City and Jerry (Jessie) Carpenter of Cumberland; his brother John (Elise) Carpenter of Zanesville; his sister Berna Jean Billman of Phoenix, AZ; his seven grandchildren Kara(Bill) Cramblett, Tiffany (Justin) Morris, Zac Carpenter, Ricky Hill, Sharon Carpenter, Joel Reese, and Michael Carpenter; his great grandchildren Dakota Hill, Colten Hill and Sophia Cramblett and several nieces and nephews and his K-9 companions Dewie and Dasie. In addition to his parents, Clarence is preceded in death by his brother Raymond Carpenter, a sister Mary Lou Carpenter and his dog Herky. Visitations will be 4 to 7 pm Thursday February 13, 2014 and 1 to 2 pm Friday, February 14th at the Farus Funeral Home of Cumberland where funeral services will be held at 2 pm with Pastor Jeff Eschbaugh officiating.
